James City County Parks & Recreation is looking for residents, community organizations, businesses, churches and stakeholders to serve as Neighborhood Advisory Committee members regarding park and recreation matters in the Grove and Lafayette Square/Village communities.

We’re looking for committee members who want to:

  • Advocate for their neighborhood and serve as a collective voice for all residents in the neighborhood.
  • Represent a diverse group including pre-schoolers, youth, adults, seniors, families, gender, ethnicities and interests.
  • Serve for two concurrent years. Members may apply to serve additional terms.

Each member shall be in good community standing and be a resident, community organization, business, church or other stakeholder who is affiliated with the respective neighborhood. Service to the committee is voluntary and does not have monetary compensation. The Neighborhood Advisory Committees will convene in September 2017. Committee meetings will be held two to four times annually. Special meetings may be requested by staff or committee members. The meetings will be facilitated by Parks & Recreation staff.
