Back to School Supply & Backpack Drive

Backpack Flash

To help local youth have a successful school year, participants in James City County’s REC Connect summer camp program hosted a Back to School Supply & Backpack Drive to collect school supplies within the community. While Matoaka Elementary School participants took the lead, participants in all five REC Connect camp sites joined in the initiative. The team collected over 1,200 items including glue sticks, pencils, pens, spiral notebooks, composition books, paper, binders, book covers, crayons, markers and much more. All supplies were organized into 45 backpacks or kits and donated to James City County Social Services for children who attend Williamsburg-James City County public schools.

“Thank you” to everyone who donated school supplies to the campaign.
