What is the delinquent real estate tax sale process for James City County?

The Treasurer determines what properties are to be sold and oversees the process. Taxes must be delinquent on Dec. 31 following the second anniversary of the due date to begin the litigation process. The James City County Treasurer has retained the services of Taxing Authority Consulting Services, P.C. (TACS) to represent the County during the collection and sale process. For more information on the process, or to sign up for notifications of upcoming tax sales, visit the TACS website. TACS can be reached at 804-545-2500 or questions@taxva.com.
