Carly N. Mee, Esq., is a Staff Attorney at SurvJustice providing direct representation to survivors in campus, civil, and criminal proceedings. Mee received her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude and received the Law School Pro Bono Award. During law school, Mee served as Research Editor for the George Mason Law Review, a Board Member of the Virginia Bar Association Pro Bono Society, and received the Virginia Bar Association Pro Bono Excellence Award for dedicating the most pro bono hours as a first-year law student. Mee also receive the 2015 School of Law Public Service Student Scholarship for volunteering with organizations providing legal services to low-income individuals, including the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project and Legal Services of Northern Virginia. Mee also worked as a law clerk for a D.C.-based employment discrimination firm and held legal internships with the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth, and SurvJustice. While an undergraduate, she co-founded the Oxy Sexual Assault Coalition and received the Ford Mentors Endowment Grant to research bystander intervention in sexual assault and went on to present her findings at state and national research conferences.
